Port Arthur Tasmania, along with Cradle Mountain and Strahan Tasmania are places that one must not miss. To get the best out of Port Artnur you should set aside at least one day if not two. There are so many activties and places to see.

At Port Arthur you must :

  • Take a group or self guide tour of Port Arthur and its grounds

  • Take time to take in the interpretive displays at the visitors centre

  • Take a cruise to the Isle of The Dead

  • Extend the cruise to take in the Boys Prison remains

  • Visit the model prison. A new reform model using solitary confinement.

  • Spend a moment in the isolation cell. Where all sound and light is obliterated via 4 doors.

  • Spend an evening on the Ghost Tour.

  • Visit the Broad Arrow Cafe memorial and reflect on the cost of the Port Arthur Massacre.
